What you'll experience
Taste, create, discover
This is a tour for those who want more from their travels than just sightseeing. Instead of watching the attractions from the sidelines, you'll taste, create, touch and discover.
Paint your own batik
We'll visit a local workshop where tradition still wins out over modernity. You'll see how batik is made – one of Malaysia's most distinctive art forms – and then create your own scarf using traditional techniques. The finished piece will be delivered to your hotel the next day and will make a special travel keepsake.
Taste fruits you've never even heard of
A jeep ride up hills covered with exotic fruit, followed by a walk through the plantation where we'll taste whatever happens to be ripening on the trees. Every season tastes different here! Those who wish can also sample local honeys, oils and fruit enzymes. Be warned – no one comes back from this tour hungry.
A walk through a real jungle
An immersion in the greenery of a real Malaysian rainforest! Among giant plants we'll get to know the spices that have shaped the flavours of Asia for centuries. There'll be time for a cup of local tea, a rest on a swing overlooking the tropical greenery, and a relaxing fish spa. And for the brave there's also a section of poisonous plants, showing that nature can be just as fascinating as it is dangerous.

Frequently asked questions
Are the batik workshops suitable for people with no artistic skills?
Yes! The workshop is designed with beginners in mind. It's not about artistic talent, but about having fun and creating your own unique keepsake from Penang.
What fruits will we taste?
It depends on the season and what happens to be ripening at the plantation. You can try, among others, durian, mangosteen, rambutan, jackfruit, papaya, pineapple and many lesser-known local fruits. Every visit looks a little different.
Is the tour suitable for children?
Definitely yes. The jeep ride, fruit tastings, batik painting and the fish spa are attractions that the youngest participants usually love most.
What if it rains?
Malaysian rains are usually short and passing. In case of light rain we carry on with the programme, using umbrellas. If the weather conditions call for changes, we'll adjust the course of the tour accordingly.
Can I continue on "Penang after dark - Night Market"?
Yes! It's a perfect combination. Once the programme ends you can stay with us and keep exploring Penang on the evening culinary trip. No change of guide and no extra transfers.
