What you'll experience
Kek Lok Si
The largest Buddhist temple in Malaysia and one of the most important places of worship for the Chinese community in Southeast Asia. Walking through the vast complex, we discover richly decorated pavilions, colourful shrines and dozens of corners full of symbolism. Most impressive is the monumental statue of Guan Yin, the Goddess of Mercy, towering over the surroundings.
Penang Hill
To reach the summit we ride one of the oldest funicular railways in Southeast Asia, opened over 100 years ago. The carriage climbs a steep jungle slope and passes through the steepest railway tunnel in the world. At over 800 metres a more pleasant temperature awaits, along with one of the most beautiful panoramas in Malaysia – George Town, the bridges and the waters of the Andaman Sea.
The Habitat
A look at the Malaysian jungle from a completely new perspective – a walk among the treetops of one of the oldest rainforests in the world. The greatest attraction is the Curtis Crest Tree Top Walk, the highest viewpoint on the island, with a panorama of Penang, the Andaman Sea and mainland Malaysia.
Traditional Malay lunch
After intensive sightseeing, it's time to rest and enjoy Malaysia at its tastiest. We'll have lunch at a trusted local restaurant visited mainly by island residents – traditional dishes full of aromatic spices, fresh herbs and exotic ingredients.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need to be in good physical shape?
Basic fitness and readiness for a few hours of relaxed sightseeing are all you need. We adjust the pace to the group – the tour is active but comfortable sightseeing.
Is the ascent of Penang Hill by railway?
Yes, we ride up to the summit on a historic funicular railway, which is itself one of Penang's main attractions and lets us reach the top quickly and comfortably. Should the railway be out of service, we get to the top in rented jeeps.
Is The Habitat tiring?
No, the walk takes place on well-maintained wooden paths among the trees. The route is easy and accessible to most participants with basic fitness.
Is lunch included in the price?
Yes, the programme includes a shared lunch at a trusted local restaurant – at no extra cost to participants.
How should I dress for the Kek Lok Si temple?
It's worth choosing comfortable, breathable clothing that covers the shoulders and knees, especially when visiting the main parts of the temple. Most important is comfort in the tropical climate and good walking shoes.
Why choose this tour over others on Penang?
Because in a single day it combines three key experiences of the island: the cultural power of Kek Lok Si, the spectacular views from Penang Hill and contact with nature at The Habitat. It's a well-planned programme that lets you see Penang's greatest attractions.
